Council of Ministers: Decision 720 Transferring the Competence of Issuing Licenses for the Education and Teaching Consulting Profession from the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Education

The Council of Ministers,

after perusal in its session chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, of Royal Court File 23552 dated 5 Rabi Al-Thani 1444 [31 October 2022], which included the Minister of Commerce and the Minister of Education Telegram 11516 dated 24 Rabi Al-Awwal 1444 [20 October 2022] regarding their request to transfer the competence to issue education and teaching consulting licenses from the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Education,

after perusal of the Law of the Ministry of Commerce issued by Council of Ministers Decision 66 dated 6 Rabi Al-Thani 1374 [2 December 1954],

after perusal of the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers Memorandum 2162 dated 15 Rajab 1444 [6 February 2023],

after perusal of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs Minutes 949/44/M dated 3 Sha’ban 1444 [24 February 2023],

and after perusal of the General Committee of the Council of Ministers Recommendation 9485 dated 4 Ramadan 1444 [26 March 2023]

hereby decides

First

The competence of issuing licenses for the education and teaching consulting profession is hereby transferred from the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Education.

Second

The Ministry of Education shall reflect the competence—referred to in clause First of this decision—in the draft Education Law.

Third

The Ministry of Commerce shall continue to exercise the competence of issuing licenses for the education and teaching consulting profession until the draft Education Law enters into force.
