The Council of Ministers,
after perusal of its session held under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Royal Court File 36644 dated 23 Jumada Al-Awwal 1444 [17 December 2022], which includes His Highness the Minister of Culture Telegram 3259 dated 18 Jumada Al-Awwal 1444 [13 December 2022], requesting His Highness to approve naming 2023 as the “Year of Arabic Poetry“,
after perusal of the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers Memorandum 1903 dated 23 Jumada Al-Thani 1444 [16 January 2023],
after perusal of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs Minutes 44/833/M dated 29 Jumada Al-Thani 1444 [22 January 2023],
and after perusal of the General Committee of the Council of Ministers Recommendation 7038 dated 7 Rajab 1444 [29 January 2023],
hereby decides
First
The year 2023 is hereby named the “Year of Arabic Poetry (2023)“.
Second
The initiative of the “Year of Arabic Poetry (2023)” is hereby approved in accordance with the presentation attached to this decision, provided that this does not entail any additional burdens on the general budget of the state.
Third
The relevant entities shall carry out the initiative of the “Year of Arabic Poetry (2023)“, in cooperation and interaction with the initiative, and revitalise it with events and initiatives directed at all members of society.
